Lady Cougar soccer season ends in region playoffs; lose 6-2 to Cloud

The Barton Community College women's soccer team saw its season come to an end today in Concordia as the Lady Cougars fell to Cloud County Community College 6-2 in the first round of the Region VI playoffs.  Despite the loss, Barton completed its fifth straight winning season by finishing with 9-8-1 while Cloud continues to the region semifinals with a 15-4 record.  MORE

Soccer concludes regular season with 3-1 victory; secures fifth straight winning season

The Barton Community College women's soccer team took to the conference road tonight and defeated Garden City Community College 3-1.  With the win the Lady Cougars wrapped up its regular season with a 9-7-1 record and guaranteed its fifth straight winning season.  Barton also secured a fifth place finish in the conference and region improving to 8-4 in conference play and 9-4 in the region.  The Lady Cougars return to the road to play their Region VI first round playoff game on Monday, October 24, against an opponent yet to be determined.  MORE

Barton women's soccer gets team effort in 2-0 win over Allen

The Barton Community College women's soccer team won today at Cougar Field 2-0 against Allen Community College.   The Lady Cougars improve to 8-6-1 on the season while remaining tied for fourth place at 7-3 with just two games remaining.  Barton concludes their regular season home schedule this Friday at Cougar Field in a 4:00 p.m. kick-off against No. 11 nationally ranked Butler Community College.  MORE

Barton women's soccer battles to scoreless tie with Northern Oklahoma

The Barton Community College women's soccer team started their challenging week of games today at Cougar Field with a scoreless tie with Northern Oklahoma College –Tonkawa.  Stepping out of conference play in today’s action, the Lady Cougars remain tied for fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference at 6-3 while moving their record to 7-6-1 on the season.  Barton has three remaining games with the next two at home beginning with Allen County Community College on Wednesday.  MORE

The Barton Community College women's soccer team battled through poor weather conditions and shut out Independence Community College 2-0 Saturday at Cougar Field.  The win keeps the Lady Cougars tied for fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference at 6-3 and improves to 7-6 on the season.  After a couple of days rest, Barton will play three games at home in four days in the week ahead starting with a non-conference game Tuesday at home against Northern Oklahoma College – Tonkawa.   MORE

Barton women's soccer picks up big 2-1 road conference victory over Cowley

The Barton Community College women’s soccer team won their third straight game by defeating Cowley College tonight in Arkansas City.   Trailing 1-0 at halftime Barton quickly even the score just 1:38 into the second half on a Jessica Rosenberg goal coming from a Monica McCarthy assist.  The game appeared heading into extra play until Rachel Ukena scored Barton’s game winning goal with only 4:06 left on the clock.  The Lady Cougars remain in 4th place in the conference standings at 5-3 while improving their overall record to 6-6 on the season. Lady Cougar Soccer shuts out Pratt

The Barton Community College women's soccer team shut out Pratt Community College 3-0 today at Cougar Field.  The victory improves the Lady Cougar’s record to 5-6 on the season and into a tie for fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference.  Barton will go on the road Tuesday to face fifth place Cowley College before returning home next Saturday against Independence Community College.  MORE

Barton women’s soccer falls to Hutch

The Barton Community College women’s soccer team lost Sunday 6-0 to Hutchinson to end a tough week through the Jayhawk Conference.  The Lady Cougars faced three of the top four conference teams in eight days and will take on the fifth place team on Wednesday.  MORE

Lady Cougar soccer drops 7-1 decision to Cloud County

The Lady Cougar soccer team lost to Cloud County 7-1 today in Concordia.  Barton would trail 3-0 with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half before freshman Courtney Galliher scored off a creative assist by sophomore Bailey Avery.  However the Lady Cougars could get no closer as Cloud added four more and dropped Barton to the .500 mark in conference play and 3-5 on the season.   Next up for the Lady Cougars will be a trip to Hutchinson on Saturday September 24 to take on the Lady Dragons at 2:00pm.

10-0 victory over Coffeyville

The Barton Community College women's soccer team went on an offensive attack today at Cougar Field and beat Coffeyville Community College 10-0.  The victory was the second on the season for the Lady Cougars and comes after a disappointing 6-0 shutout loss against Maple Woods on Tuesday.  Barton improves to 2-3 on the season and will have the week off until they host Neosho Community College on Wednesday, September 14.  MORE

Lady Cougar Soccer picks up season’s first victory

The Barton Community College women's soccer team picked up their first victory of the season today by beating Hesston College 2-0.  The Lady Cougars improve to 1-2 on the season after losing two games this past weekend.  Barton will have the week off until they travel to Kansas City on September 6 to take on Maple Woods, MO. Women's soccer predicted sixth in conference

Despite finishing fourth in the conference and making it to the region semifinals, the women’s soccer team is predicted by conference coaches to finish sixth in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.  The #3 ranked men’s soccer team is predicted to finish first after winning the conference and regional title last year.   MORE


Uhlenhake takes over Barton women’s soccer program

Shawn Uhlenhake will be taking over the Barton Community College women’s soccer program as the Cougars’ new head coach for the 2011 season. Uhlenhake was recently hired to replace Bryan Sailer, who accepted the Emporia State University’s Head Women’s Soccer coach job earlier this month.  MORE
