The Barton Community College women’s golf team finished 17th at the 2011 NJCAA National Golf Championships in Daytona Beach, Fla. this past week. After rounds about 420 the opening two days, Barton got comfortable with the LPGA International Golf Course and shot 410 and 404 the final two days to move into 17th. Barton closed that gap to a single stroke with a 410 on day three and a 412 from Bismarck State (ND). But on the final day, Barton blew away Bismarck with a 404 to a 435 score for the North Dakota school to handily move into 17th. The Cougars finished with a 1667 while Bismarck finished with a 1697.
