Key and Brunson named to All-Region VI Division I team

Algie Key and Dwayne Brunson were named to the recently released 2012 All-Region VI Division I team.  Key, who was voted the Jayhawk West division freshman of the year, captured the second most votes in being selected to the first team.  Key, the week fourteen NJCAA and KJCCC player of the week, averaged 18.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.8 steals per game and recorded seven double-double performances on the season. 

Key is joined on the all-region team by sophomore Dwayne Brunson, who garnered second team honors.  Brunson, who also earned second team Jayhawk West honors, recorded sixteen double-doubles throughout the season and finished his sophomore season averaging a double-double with 17.4 points and 10.0 rebounds to go along with 1.3 steals and 2.9 blocks per game.

The duo helped lead the Cougars to the semifinals of the Region VI playoffs where they were also selected to the All-Tournament team and helped Barton maintain recognition in the national polls for ten straight weeks as Barton eventually finished the season with a 26-7 record.
