Men's Soccer predicted first in KJCCC conference

The Barton Community College men’s soccer team is predicted to finish first in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.  Selected by conference coaches, the defending conference and region champion Cougar soccer team is also ranked No. 3 in the nation in the NJCAA Division I preseason poll.   The Barton women’s soccer team is predicted sixth in the conference after last year finishing fourth and making it to the region semifinals.

Both soccer teams open the 2011 season this week-end at the new soccer/track complex on the Barton campus. The Cougar men will play Friday at 5:00pm against Kansas Wesleyan JV, and again on Sunday against No. 7 Otero College, CO,  at 2:00pm.  The Lady Cougars, under first-year head coach Shawn Uhlenhake, start season play at noon Saturday against Cisco, TX, and against Northwest College, WY, at noon on Sunday.
