In a battle for the top spot in the Jayhawk Conference standings, Cowley College shocked the No. 6 ranked Barton Community College men’s soccer team in a 2-1 victory in Arkansas City.  Tied at 0-0 at halftime Cowley quickly scored just two and a half minutes into the second half.  The Cougars responded with a Fabio Priore de Almeida goal just a minute later to tie the score.  Cowley would get the game clincher with fourteen minutes to play and thus send the Cougars home with a rare conference defeat. 

With the loss coupled with early season forfeitures, Barton drops to 5-2 in the conference and 7-7 on the season.  Barton returns to the pitch this Saturday against Independence Community College.  Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Cougar Field and will be webcast at www.BartonSports.com.
