Bouncing back from its first loss of the season, the Barton Community College men’s soccer team defeated No. 9 San Jacinto today 3-1. The No. 3 ranked Cougars scored two goals in the second half to improve to 4-1 on the season while also earning Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees’ 100th victory at Barton.
On Saturday Barton held No. 1 Tyler Junior College scoreless for 116 minutes of play before Tyler scored on a header off a free kick with four minutes remaining in the second golden goal overtime period to win 1-0.
The Cougars will be back in action this Thursday as they host Coffeyville Community College. Game time is 4:00 p.m. at Cougar Field.
