Highlights
Barton entered the contest tied with Colby and Seward in the loss column with 4 losses to fight for 2 home spots in the opening round of the Region VI playoffs. In order for the Cougars not to play at home, Barton would have to lose 2 of its final 3 games with Colby sweeping Pratt and Seward to finish the season.
In the win over Colby Barton held leads most of the night but couldn’t put away the Trojans until the finals stages of each game.
Thursday night the Cougars will try to give Pratt just its 2nd loss of the conference. After that contest the Cougars will travel to Seward and Garden City (0-12 in West) to finish the regular season. Seward picked up a big conference win Tuesday night with a win over Dodge City to drop the Conquistadors to 9-3 in the West and back in the mix with Barton and Seward for 2nd place.
