The No. 15 ranked Barton volleyball team won a five set thriller tonight over Colby Community College at the Barton Gym.  The Lady Cougars trailed in the match 0-2 before winning the last three sets to remain undefeated in conference play. 

Colby had the Lady Cougars on the ropes by winning the match’s first two sets by scores of 25-23 and 25-22 but could not put Barton away.  The Lady Cougars dominated set three 25-10 to force a wild set four that they eventually won 25-22.  Building on the momentum Barton would race to an early fifth set lead and cruise to a 15-7 victory.

With the victory Barton improves to 13-6 on the season and 6-0 in conference play and sets up a big Jayhawk Conference battle in Liberal on Wednesday night.  The Lady Cougars will face the second place and No. 17 ranked Seward County Community College Lady Saints who are 5-1 in conference play and 14-4 on the season.   Match time is 6:30 p.m. at The Greenhouse on the Seward campus.  The match can also be viewed via the internet courtesy of Saints Sports.  For more information visit the Barton website (www.BartonSports) for details.
