Lady Cougars combine defense with timely offense in defeating Colby

Much like their previous meeting in January, the Barton Community College women’s basketball team used big runs to break open a close game in defeating Colby Community College 68-51 Saturday night at the Barton Gym.   Barton put together a 15-0 first half run then combined it with a 15-2 second half run to get victory and even their conference mark at 7-7 and improve to 17-11 overall, while Colby drops to 4-10 in the West and 8-20 overall.  The Lady Cougars will take to the road for Wednesday’s conference game as they take on the Pratt Community College Lady Beavers.  Barton will look for revenge in the 6:00 p.m. rematch as Pratt won the first contest 53-46 at the Barton Gym.
