The Barton Community College women's soccer team started their challenging week of games today at Cougar Field with a scoreless tie with Northern Oklahoma College –Tonkawa. Stepping out of conference play in today’s action, the Lady Cougars remain tied for fourth place in the Jayhawk Conference at 6-3 while moving their record to 7-6-1 on the season. Barton has three remaining games with the next two at home beginning with Allen County Community College on Wednesday.
“I was really proud of the way the girls competed today,” said Barton Women’s Soccer Head Coach Shawn Uhlenhake. “I thought our defense played the best they have all year by being the first to the ball and things really difficult for their forwards. It would have been nice to get the win but we can be proud of our effort and play today.”
The Lady Cougars continue their busy week of games on Wednesday against Allen County Community College. Game time is 2:00 p.m. at Cougar Field for the Jayhawk Conference matchup. On Friday the Lady Cougars will play their last home game as No. 5 nationally ranked Butler Community College comes to town for a 4:00 p.m. conference game.
