7.2  Enhance the student experience & their opportunities to succeed

The 32nd Annual Big Benefit Auction was a huge sucess in friend/fund raising and we had 384 attendees which included some new people that are first time attendees. Financially it was the most successful with raising over $78,000.00. This fundraiser benefits the students and donors we serve. We always get new sponsorship and build strong relationships through this fundraiser.

The Acadmic Enrichment Fund campaign was also very successful. Many donors renewed their scholarships, added to their endowments or just donated to the operating fund of the foundation. This is a year long campaign but the funds are solicted through the full month of March.

The 4th Annual Foundation Sporting Clay Shoot is scheduled for April 17, 2011. We have our sponsors and they have increased from last years event. We expect to have over 150 shooting participants.

7.3  Increase public awareness and donors of college opportunities and enhance community relationships

The introduction of the Fine Arts Development project is being initiated by having the "Dancing with the Barton Stars" awareness event. Ten community couples are competing in a dance contest and sharing the need to update/renovate our Fine Arts Auditorium. The one evening event will include many students, music and theatre departments along with the Foundation staff plannning and implementing the event. A VIP (very important partron) dinner will be held for 80 people in the Shafer Art Gallery. It will be an upscale dinner which will include the perfromance emcees, and Miss Kansas. Other receptions will be held in surrounding communities with students participating in defining the importance of the fine arts at Barton.

The President and Exec. Director of Institutional Advancment are meeting individually with donors in a luncheon setting to thank them for their support and answering any questions they might have about the college. When available the scholarship student of the donor is also attending the weekly luncheons.

We have had many opportunities to speak at civic groups to discuss upcoming Foundation events or a program offered at the college.
